Steampunk Rainbowdash
As it was his birthday and it was Steampunk themed it seemed like a good excuse to make him a Steampunked Rainbowdash as he is a Brony after all.
I bought one of the small My Little Pony figures (I think it was one of the mask party ones) and a little tub of watch bits off eBay, then got painting and gluing.
The goggles and harness are made from string that was glued to the pony then painted. The yellow "glass" in the goggles is made from yellow acrylic paint mixed with a gloss acrylic medium, its really good stuff for making a translucent effect.
I just got Picas, oh my gosh does it feel like its stealing all my internet and making my mac go slow, but it does make nice pictures like this one.

Death by chocolate hearts
Well its mums birthday today so yesterday I was busy making little cupcakes before work. I used a recipe by Not Quite Nigella, I love here blog and have made many things from it. I used her chocolate hedgehog recipe for the cupcakes, then pushed a lump of chocolate into the middles of the cakes before putting them in the oven, so there's a little surprise when you bite into them. I used my nice new heart shapes silicone mould for them and I was a bit lazy with the icing and used Betty Crockers chocolate fudge frosting, its a little bit synthetic but handy when your short of time, you don't really notice it when its on the cakes though .

Funnel Cakes in the UK
We burnt the cakes to start with as we had the oil too hot (I don't have a sugar thermometer yet) but after that they turned out much better.

Stamp making
Well this is the first time I've tried to make a rubber stamp and I loved it! Its so much fun and really satisfying. I got the Yellow Owl Workshop carve a stamp kit for Christmas and its pretty cool it comes with all the stuff you need to carve stamps as well as some templates and all the tools. I've made the cute little envelope from the templates they have as I thought I would use it the most with all the letters I send. I ordered the Yellow Owl print making book as well last night, I've defiantly got the printing bug.
